Join Ello's Summer Reading Challenge!

Team Ello

We're kicking off summer with Ello's first-ever Summer Reading Challenge! Entering is free and open to all students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We have prizes, free books, fun activities, and much more planned!

Ello's Summer Reading Challenge

Over the past year, Team Ello has heard from so many parents and teachers asking for additional resources to help prevent the summer slide and encourage reading over the break. So with that in mind, we're thrilled to announce Ello's first Summer Reading Challenge. It's open to all K-5 students, is completely free to enter, and includes lots of prizes and giveaways. Winners will be announced in late August. You can read the full details and sign up your child below. And as always, if you have any questions please reach out to support@helloello.com.

Who can enter the Challenge?

All students who are currently in Kindergarten through 5th grade—or entering them in the fall. Yes, that includes homeschoolers!

Is it free?

Yes, it's completely free to enter. No purchase is necessary, nor do you need to have an active Ello Subscription.

What's the Challenge?

Each student entering must choose their own daily or weekly reading goal. We recommend making it aspirational, yet also achievable. Write it at the top of the Summer Reading Chart (download here). Students must then work to complete their goal each week over summer break. In August, students must then upload their completed reading chart to Ello for a chance to win prizes.

What are the prizes?

All student entrants will be able to win books, toys, and larger Grand Prizes for their participation. The Grand Prizes will be announced throughout the summer — stay tuned!

When are the winners announced?

All Ello Summer Reading Challenge winners will be announced below by August 25th. We will contact parents via email as well.

How to enter:

Parents can sign up their child here. Then, simply download and print the Summer Reading Challenge Chart. Remember, they must write their daily or weekly summer goal at the top to officially enter! In August, students must then upload a photo of their completed three-month reading chart for a chance to win prizes.
